In a move to expand its contributions
to the adoption of standards in the directory
services and directory assistance (DA) industry,
Information Services Extended, Inc. (ISx)
has joined the Association for the European Interworking
of Directory Inquiry Services (EIDQ Association).
The EIDQ Association announced approval of ISx’s
application for provisional membership at the
organization’s bi-annual plenary meeting
in Dublin, Ireland on October 14, 2003.
Welcoming ISx to membership, David Stafford,
General Secretary of the EIDQ Association, said,
“ISx is a very welcome addition to the Association,
and I am confident that mutual benefit will be
gained from its membership. The new ISx initiative
to enter the market for data provision is further
evidence of its commitment to help providers develop
and deliver comprehensive, high-quality directory
inquiry services through effective interworking
- a primary goal of the EIDQ Association.”
John Kemp, ISx vice president and general manager
of sales for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and
Asia Pacific, said, “ISx has for many years
provided directory services companies throughout
Europe with solutions and services that operate
on the principle of interworking, and joining
the EIDQ Association reaffirms our commitment
to the use of standards that optimize the exchange
of listing information.”
Kemp added, “ISx’s participation
in the EIDQ Association will help our customers,
not only by improving the efficiency of their
technology, but also through the support that
the EIDQ Association provides, as well, on business
strategy and policy issues affecting our industry,
such as regulation and privacy.”
