Lauderdale, FL, USA —
Information Services Extended,
Inc. (ISx) has won a major contract with
Intrasoft and IBM to provide a comprehensive national
directory assistance solution for OTE S.A., the
largest telecommunications operator in Greece.
Together with Intrasoft and IBM, ISx will
replace OTE's existing national directory assistance
technologies in three operator centers in Athens,
Thessaloniki and Patras. The new installation
for OTE's 500 operator positions will employ the
latest ISx technology and IBM hardware and network
management software. Intrasoft will serve as the
prime systems integrator.
ISx has over twenty years experience supporting
the directory assistance operations of telecommunications
companies worldwide and is the world leader in
wired directory assistance software. The company
provides state-of-the-art wireless capability
for leading telecom call centers. ISx's market-leading
platform is recognized for its reliability, speed
of its database engine and strength of its update
tools.
"We are pleased that OTE S.A. has chosen
ISx technology as their engine to deliver relevant,
timely and accurate content to their subscribers,"
said Ed Downs, Chief Executive Officer of ISx.
"We look forward to assisting OTE S.A.
in its directory assistance transition and improving
customer satisfaction."
Increased competition in the European telecom
market is driving investment in improved operator
services, Aristotelis Anninos, Intrasoft Marketing
General Manager, noted. He said that Intrasoft
will manage this complex implementation process
so OTE S.A. can focus on providing superior services
to customers. "Since our company's foundation,
we have been doing our best to assist our customers
in increasing their business efficiency and operational
accuracy.
OTE operators will have to spend less time dealing
with day-to-day directory requests so they can
devote more time to offering wider and more varied
value-added services. Ultimately, this enables
OTE to attract more customers and, as a consequence,
help increase shareholder confidence and commitment."
To Kosmas Kalligeris, IBM Hellas Sales Executive,
this project demonstrates the value of successful
cooperation between companies like Intrasoft and
IBM in the Greek telecommunications market. "Increased
revenue streams from the implementation of this
state-of-the-art solution will not be the only
significant benefit for OTE," Kalligeris
said. "OTE also will be uniquely positioned
in the greater Balkan area to provide advanced
directory assistance services to its customers.
Furthermore, they will be able to successfully
meet the increased service requirements that will
certainly arise from the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
We are truly delighted to provide advanced solutions
to our customers based on our worldwide experience
and resources."
